Calgary police are looking for five men in connection with a home invasion in the northeast.

It happened just before midnight on Sunday in the 100 block of Coral Springs Boulevard.

It's alleged five men with weapons forced their way into a home and assaulted a man who lives there. He received minor injuries to his head and foot.

Duty Insp. Darrell Hesse says the occupants of the home were tied up with zip ties.

"These offenders ... were all believed to be armed with either a handgun or an edged weapon," he said.

"It's also believed that these offenders fled in a vehicle and we had several resources, including our canine unit and HAWC 1 helicopter, in support but we were unable to locate these offenders."

The house was ransacked and property was stolen, according to police.

Police say the motive is unclear at this point in the investigation but they believe it was a targeted attack.
