One Calgary Transit rider won't have to worry about having enough change for the bus for a while.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi was on hand Thursday morning for a presentation to the transit's 100-millionth rider for 2012.

He had a nice surprise for recipient Craig Hardy.

“And Craig actually wins more than just that great t-shirt for being the 100 millionth customer,” Nenshi said to a crowd of people at a bus stop at the Scotia Centre. ”Craig wins free transit for a year.”

It's the first time Calgary Transit has had more than 100-million riders in one year.
