A woman in Gleichen, Alta., is giving Canada Post credit for the extra effort to return a lost birthday card containing money.
Gwennyth Bolinger mailed the card to her son in Copenhagen, Denmark, along with £60 — the equivalent of $95 Cdn — but she forgot to put the return address on the envelope.
The Danish mail service re-directed the envelope back to Canada and Bolinger says that's when a Canada Post employee traced the origin of the envelope through its stamp code.
"I was so impressed. I thought, 'Wow, that was a lot of extra effort,'" she said. "And the great thing was, the £60 was still in the envelope."
Bolinger says the employee went through every Bolinger listed in the phone book under Gleichen until the postal worker reached her.
