A Calgary man has been charged nearly three years after a brawl outside a southern Alberta bar ended with five people suffering cuts and stab wounds.
Lethbridge police announced charges on Monday against the 30-year-old Calgary man.
"This has been a very lengthy and extensive investigation," said Staff Sgt. Ian Sanderson in a press release.
The charges stem from a brawl on Oct. 18, 2009. A verbal dispute among several people inside Lethbridge’s Roadhouse Thirst & Grill spilled onto the street. A man pulled out a knife and stabbed four people, while a bar staff member received cuts to his hands.
The Calgary man is now charged with four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.
He appeared in court Tuesday and was released on bail, scheduled to appear again on Dec. 7.
