Lethbridge Police say most of the military ordnance found in a home on Saturday were likely purchased at a military surplus store.

Police discovered the munitions after they were called to check on the well-being of the homeowner.

When officers arrived they found a 61-year-old man dead inside the residence located at 1000 block of 29th Street South.

Foul play is not suspected.

As a precaution police called in the military from CFB Suffield and Calgary after they found what appeared to be field artillery training shells.

Access to the neighbourbound was blocked off until the technicians examined the ordnance and rendered the situation safe.
