RCMP say the investigation into the discovery of remains near Cochrane, Alta., is still ongoing. (Meghan Grant/CBC)
The RCMP say human remains found near Cochrane, Alta., last month are believed to be those of a white man between the ages of 18 and 30.
Children playing outside their home, just south of town, came across what locals describe as a human head.
The cause of death is not known, but police say the partial remains had been in the location less than a year.
They also say the deceased had sustained a broken nose that had healed.
