The Red Gateway laptop was stolen from a rural home in Rocky View County Thursday morning, along with passports, credit cards and other electronics.
Cochrane RCMP constable Peter Wood spoke to the family Saturday, who lost their son Matthew five years ago. He was a float plane instructor on Vancouver Island.
“They’re pretty upset of course. The impact on the family is great,” Wood said, adding the laptop stolen had several images of Matthew on it. “The son passed away October 13 of 2007. So the timing of the break and enter on the 18th has really affected the family greatly. They are pleading to the public for assistance in hoping that the suspects will be identified and hoping that they have some heart and will return the laptop to the family.”

Police say one of the suspects was wearing a black jacket, light coloured jeans, and a grey and black ball cap. The other was wearing an orange construction safety vest, sweat shirt and dark jeans.
