RCMP are investigating the discovery of remains near Cochrane, Alta. (Meghan Grant/CBC)RCMP are investigating a grim discovery near Cochrane, Alta., Saturday morning.
Children playing outside their home, just south of town, came across what locals describe as a human head around 10:50 a.m. MT.
They called local police, who then brought in the RCMP major crimes unit.
The remains have been taken to the medical examiner's office in Calgary for review.
RCMP spokesperson Doris Stapleton said they cannot confirm whether they are human remains until after the medical examiner's review.
