Traffic is flowing along a section of 52nd Street S.E. again, after it was closed for the past year.

City officials and politicians were on hand this morning for the official re-opening

Margaret Henderson lives and works in the area.

“We had to put up with a year of going around a big block, but it’s fine,” said Henderson.

“I’m just thrilled it’s open now.”

Henderson says she expects her daily commute will be much easier Monday.

The road was closed from 94th to 106th Avenues for the construction of new bridges and to widen the roadway from two to six lanes.
