A high-speed race over the weekend on the QE II saw two vehicles hit speeds of 214 kilometres per hour.

The incident has led to criminal charges against a Calgary man.

The two cars were racing side by side near Innisfail, about 120 kilometres north of Calgary, just after midnight Saturday, said police.
