Erin Jackman will be sentenced for criminal negligence on Oct. 18.
(CBC)A former day home operator from Medicine Hat pleaded guilty to criminal negligence in causing the death of a toddler in her care.
An 18-month-old girl was injured at a day home and airlifted to Alberta Children's Hospital in July 2010 with head injuries.
She died later that day.
Erin Jackman was originally charged with manslaughter, and plead not guilty. Her trial was to start next month.
The mother of two young children will now be sentenced on Oct. 18 to the new charge of criminal negligence that she plead guilty to on Thursday.
The toddler's death sparked a provincial investigation into day homes. Jackman's day home was accredited.
