Calgary police are asking for help in locating a man's wedding ring that was stolen during a break and enter in the southwest community of Haysboro last week.

The man's wife died two years ago, so police say the ring has significant sentimental value.

The ring is a gold band with the word "Oktober" engraved on the inside.

A laptop with family photos was also stolen. Police were able to recover the computer, but the photos had all been wiped from the hard drive.

In most cases, they were the only copies of the photographs, so Calgary police are trying to help the victim recover them.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with one count of break and enter and is expected in court Thursday.
