Fire crews have put out a blaze that ignited overnight at a southeast Calgary landfill site.
Crews were called to the Forest Hills landfill south of 17th Avenue on 68th Street S.E. at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
About 100 square metres of materials was burning, said acting Battalion Chief Randy Yeats.
As of about 6:30 a.m. all of the hot spots had been extinguished.
Yeats said there was no reason for concern about air quality in the area.
“There have been some calls for smoke in the area, but they haven't determined there's any risk at this time,” he said.
