A Florida man has been sentenced to three years in prison after he tried to smuggle guns across the border at Coutts.
George Foster, 54, was asked if he had any firearms as he tried to enter Canada in February. He said no.
Canada Border Services Agency officers searched his vehicle and found 75 guns including 48 handguns, four of which were loaded.
Twelve high-capacity magazines, a crossbow and a blowgun were also found among the weapons hidden in the pickup truck.
Foster pled guilty to six charges earlier this week in a Lethbridge courtroom.
