An Ogden recycling plant is facing 17 charges under the provincial fire and safety codes act after a fire at the end of April smouldered for two weeks.
A heap of scrap auto-parts, rubber and plastics — also known as "auto fluff" — had been slowly burning at the business located on the 3400 block of Ogden Road S.E.
Calgary Metal Recycling and its owner are facing the charges for failing to clear space between storage piles and the building and failing to ensure storage pile heights were consistent with safety codes.
