Two years to the day a St. Albert, Alta., couple disappeared, their son says finding his parents' remains is still a priority.

Lyle and Marie McCann disappeared on their way to British Columbia on July 3, 2010. Their burned-out motorhome was found two days later near Edson, but their bodies have never been recovered.

The couple’s son Bret McCann said he hopes that the $60,000 reward will encourage anyone with information to come forward.

“The reward is still available and if there is anybody out there that has any information or if they think they remember something — anything that might help us find my parents — please call Crime Stoppers or the police,” McCann said.

Police are continuing to search the wooded area near Edson and last week they searched with dogs on Chip Lake.

According to court documents, the RCMP believe Lyle and Marie McCann were killed on the day they disappeared.

A court order declaring the couple dead was granted in July 2011.

Travis Vader, 40, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of the McCanns.

Vader was identified as a suspect early in the investigation but wasn't charged until April 2012.

He made his first court appearance on May 15, 2012 and appeared for a second time on June 5 by video link in Edson provincial court because he is currently in jail on unrelated charges.
