A piece of falling glass led to the closure of a downtown Calgary street Tuesday.

The closure came after strong winds pummelled the city for most of the afternoon and a piece of glass came crashing down to the street below.

Crews blocked off the 300-block of Eighth Avenue S.W. around 5:30 p.m. MT while they investigated what caused the pane to fall.

No one was hurt, but the area was closed to the public for a few hours.
