Cochrane names employee who died in workplace accident

Tim Bannister has been named as the man who died while working for the town of Cochrane this week.
The town employee died when a ramp fell on him while he was working underneath a large trailer.
The 52-year-old had worked for the town for over six years and was a long-term resident.
In a statement, Cochrane mayor Truper McBride wrote that Bannister’s department is a close knit family and says everyone is devastated by the loss.My thoughts and prayers go out to Tim Bannister's family and friends, a great person, outstanding civil servant, and proud community builder,” wrote McBride on Twitter.
Alberta Occupational Health and Safety is investigating why the ramp collapsed.
