Police investigate a stabbing in Temple around 8:30 p.m. MT Saturday. They believe a man was stabbed at a house party. (CBC)Calgary police are investigating two separate stabbings last night.
In the first incident, a man was found suffering from knife wounds at the intersection of 52nd Street and 44th Avenue N.E. just after 8:20 p.m. MT.
“Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with being stabbed and slashed,” said Insp. Paul Malchow on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police took a suspect into custody from a Temple home, but the man was later released.
“The victim did provide a statement, there appeared to have been a party of some sort at this residence,” said Malchow.
“There was an altercation that occurred and descriptions are vague at this point.”
Stabbing near Westbrook Mall
The second stabbing happened just after 11 p.m. MT.
Police got a report of a man lying on the roadway near Westbrook Mall, at Bow Trail and 37th Street S.W.
When officers arrived they found a man in his 20s suffering from a serious stab wound.
Police say there was a blood trail, which made it appear like he had been dumped from a car.
The man is in stable condition, but needed to have surgery.
Police are still looking for a suspect.
