Calgary fire crews were kept busy battling two fires Thursday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. MT, crews were called to a Canadian Tire in McKenzie Towne.

Firefighters found a fire on the second floor and evacuated the building.

One person was taken to hospital. The cause is under investigation.

Around the same time, firefighters were called to a fire at an abandoned building near Prospect Avenue and 14th Street.

Firefighters put the fire out shortly after arriving.

Nobody was in the building. The cause of that fire is also under investigation.
