Aref Selman Nassereddine, 64, died as a result of stab wounds at his residence in southwest Calgary. (CBC)A woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a Calgary man.
Crystal Aldina Patricia Crowchild, 26, of Calgary was arrested Thursday.
Aref Selman Nassereddine, 64, was found by family members at his residence in the 1600 block of 42nd Street S.W. on March 17, 2010.
At first his death was considered suspicious, but a few months later police said lab results identifying DNA at the crime scene were instrumental in determining that the man was killed.
Officers believed the motive was robbery. At the time, investigators said a keychain imprinted with an image of an Arab-looking man standing next to a horse was stolen from the home and could provide clues to what happened.
