Manager Ken Aylesworth says the new location, at 510 77th Ave. S.E., has new vendors, an expanded play area and big, bright food court.

Although the new parking lot is a big improvement over the unpaved one at the old site, Aylesworth expects it will be busy this weekend.

"We suspect there may be some logjams this weekend, and we've done everything we can do right now to help facilitate that," he said. "We'll get you in and let you experience the new farmers market and make sure that it's well worth your travels here."

The popular market was forced to leave its former southwest space in December because Currie Barracks is being redeveloped into a new community.
