Calgary mayoral candidate Bob Hawkesworth has conceded he has no chance to win the election.

Hawkesworth, a longtime alderman, has been kept at a distant fourth in the mayoral race set to culminate on Monday.

Speaking with volunteers and the media on Tuesday morning, he said he's "considering all my options."

"Well, I just stated the obvious. Now three or four polls have come out in a row. I've got good, solid support that's hanging in there with me through thick and thin, it's just not enough to elect me to the mayor's chair," said Hawkesworth.

"I'm not going to be Calgary's next mayor, barring some kind of miracle between now and next Monday."

Hawkesworth said he would take the next day or so to decide what to do next, which could include throwing his support behind another candidate.
