Dancers, clowns and a marching band kept throngs of Calgarians entertained as a long lineup snaked around the CBC building Thursday for the annual Stampede breakfast.
With the Calgary Stampede set to officially open Friday, it's high season for authentic cowboy breakfasts all over the city.
CBC teamed up with ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen to host the event at the broadcast centre off Memorial Drive, attracting thousands of people for free pancakes and sausages.
Jim Brown and his team broadcast the Calgary Eyeopener live on CBC Radio from the parking lot.

- Friday: The Mustard Seed is having a barbecue at its headquarters, at 102 11th Ave S.E.
- Saturday: Chinook Centre hosts its breakfast at the mall on Macleod Trail S.W. from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Saturday: Calgary Co-op Stampede breakfast at Dalhousie Centre in the northwest.
- Sunday: Caffe Beano Stampede breakfast at 1613 9th Street S.W.
CBC is the official broadcaster of Friday's 2010 Calgary Stampede parade. Coverage begins on CBC Television at 9:30 a.m. MT with anchors Nirmala Naidoo and Kristina Barnes, sports specialist Doug Dirks and Heartland's Amber Marshall hosting.
The parade will also be streamed live on CBCSports.ca.
