A woman has been arrested in connection with food tampering at a grocery store in southwest Calgary.

Tatyana Granada, 43, has been charged with mischief over $5,000 in connection with an incident on March 11.

Staff found metal pins in packaged deli cheese items and a package of flatbread at Calgary Co-op's Oakridge Centre on Southland Drive and 24th Street S.W.

The store has recently been the target of several incidents of product tampering.

On Jan. 18 and Feb. 17, metal pins were found in bakery items, cheese, juices and some bulk food.

Police said Wednesday that their investigation into those cases is continuing.

The store had increased security and carried out regular searches of its products since the first incident in January.

Police said last month that they had suspects and that the tampering appeared to be aimed at disrupting business rather than harming customers.
