Calgary police have issued a public warning about the release of a man they called "predatory and opportunistic" from prison.

Curtis Dale Hill, 30, is in Calgary after serving a 10-year prison sentence in Edmonton for seven counts of armed robbery, as well as break and enter, theft, assault and other charges.

"Hill is both predatory and opportunistic and uses violence to achieve his goals. He is particularly violent toward authority figures," police said in a news release Tuesday.

"The Calgary Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest."

Hill will be monitored by the force's high-risk offender program, police said.

He has green eyes and a fair complexion, and is 5-11” and 150 lbs.
