Police issued digitally rendered photographs to show what Dean Robert Zimmerman might look like without his goatee or with a beard. (Calgary Police Service) Calgary police have released new images of a sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Police issued photos of Dean Robert Zimmerman, 44, leaving his last-known address, along with digitally rendered photographs meant to show what he would look like without his goatee or with a beard.
"With limited funds available, it is possible that he may have hitched a ride," police said in a news release.
"[But] with only a few unconfirmed sightings since he went missing, investigators also believe that Zimmerman may be in hiding and is laying low. It's possible that he is staying in paid-for accommodation, so police are encouraging people to be vigilant if they work in, or are staying at a motel or hotel."
Zimmerman is five feet eight inches tall, weighs 205 pounds and has brown eyes and a shaved head.
He spent more than three years in a federal prison for sexual assault involving a weapon and forcible confinement.
At the end of September, Calgary police issued a warning about Zimmerman's prison release, because he had a history of violent sexual assaults against adult women.

(Calgary Police Service) Under the conditions of his release, he was to be monitored for two years by a police high-risk offender program. He also had to stay at an approved address and be in that location at certain times.
Police have been looking for Zimmerman since Oct. 14, when he failed to answer his door and meet with police, both of which would be breaches of the conditions of his release.
Police allege Zimmerman made an empty envelope deposit at an ATM in the TD Canada Trust bank on Brentwood Road N.W. on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12.
Police said anyone who sees Zimmerman shouldn't approach him, but contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
