Eight months after a Calgary father was slain in his home, police have charged a man with first-degree murder after bringing him back from Vancouver, where he was arrested.

Sheldon Bertrum Worme, 24, of Calgary was charged Friday in the death of Daniel Jacob Levesque, 29, a carpenter and a father of two, who was found dead in his southwest townhouse in June 2008.

The cause of Levesque's death has not been released for investigative reasons.

Investigators traced Worme to Vancouver, where he was arrested and transferred back to Calgary on Friday afternoon, said police.

"Mr. Worme became aware of our interest [in] him and he had gone out to the Lower Mainland. Vancouver police informed us that they made the arrest during a traffic stop and he was arrested without incident," said Staff Sgt. Kevin Forsen of the Calgary police homicide unit.

Forsen said it appears Worme and Levesque met just before the homicide.

Police believe robbery was the motive behind Levesque's killing and say there may be a number of accomplices. In January, investigators released images taken from C-Train surveillance cameras of people who might have information relevant to the case.

"We haven't identified what these other people have done and how they were involved," said Forsen, adding that the investigation continues.
