A daycare centre in northeast Calgary was evacuated Tuesday and will remain closed until a problem with the furnace is fixed.
The daycare at the Bridgeland Seventh Day Adventist Church on 12th Street NE was evacuated after staff reported a strong smoky smell, with 10 staff members and 33 children moved to the nearby Christine Meikle School.
The fire department has told maintenance staff to have the furnace inspected and the daycare has been instructed not to allow any children inside until the problem has been addressed.
