Alberta RCMP are saying little about a body that was found near the town of Chestermere Monday afternoon.

Police have not released whether the human remains are of a man or woman or how long they have been in the area about 20 kilometres east of Calgary.

A search of the area was halted because of darkness on Monday, but resumed Tuesday afternoon.

The RCMP said the case will be treated as a homicide until the cause of death can be determined. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
