A gorilla in the Calgary Zoo has given birth.
Zuri, a first-time mother, gave birth on Saturday. It's the seventh offspring for the baby's father, a silverback named Kakonga.
Les Stegenga, one of the gorilla keepers, says visitors to the zoo may catch a glimpse of the new addition.

"If you are a patient viewer and come to the zoo and sit for an hour or so, your odds of seeing her are very good."
Stegenga says Zuri is bonding with her baby. He says he hasn't been able to get close enough to determine the gender of the baby.
