Manslaughter charge laid in Stand Off homicide

A 10-month investigation by multiple Alberta law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of one man in connection to the death of a 24-year-old woman in Stand Off, Alta.

A 10-month investigation by multiple Alberta law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of one man in connection to the death of a 24-year-old woman in Stand Off, Alta. 

Brittaney Medicine Crane was found unresponsive in a home on May 21, 2015 in the southern Alberta town. Emergency crews declared her dead at the scene.

Blood Tribe police, as well as Red Deer RCMP's Major Crimes Unit, Lethbridge's forensic identification unit and Calgary Police's canine unit contributed to the investigation.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on Friday and charged with manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
