A Springbank home was completely destroyed by fire Friday but officials say no one was hurt.

Renovations were underway in the garage of the home and Rocky View Country Fire Chief Randy Smith said that's where the fire started.

However, the cause is not yet known.

Rocky View fire crews worked with the Cochrane Fire Department and had to shuttle water in by truck from the town.

Initially, responders tried to attack the fire but quickly realized it was too far gone and switched into defensive mode.

Now, crews are watching the property to make sure the fire doesn't spread.

Smith says they are worried about the possibility of the grass catching fire.
