All tornado warnings for southern Alberta have ended, though severe thunderstorm warnings are still in effect.

Environment Canada issued the tornado warnings for Rocky View County, including Airdrie, and Mountain View County just before 5 p.m.

The agency advised residents to take safety precautions and watch for storm updates. Get the latest information on the warnings from Environment Canada. 

tornado ripped through Edmonton 25 years ago today, on July 31, 1987. Twenty-seven people were killed and 300 were injured within one hour.

Tornado warnings were also issued for areas between Calgary and Red Deer on Monday. They lasted about two hours.
