John GIlchrist visited Balo in the city's southwest recently. It's located at 1238 Eighth Street S.W. in the Beltline and seats about 80 diners in a light, open room.
Balo offers tasty, plentiful food that blurs the line between Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food. It has over 100 dishes to choose from, including ginger beef, satay beef salad rolls and grilled tiger prawn salad with chili-lime vinaigrette.
He gives the Vietnamese eatery seven forks out of 10.
