Repair fraudsters going door-to-door after Airdrie hail damage, say RCMP
Airdrie RCMP issue warning after becoming aware of ongoing construction fraud
RCMP are warning hail victims in southern Alberta to be wary of repair people who walk up to their doors.

Police say phoney construction workers are now going door-to-door in badly-damaged neighbourhoods.
They're offering low-priced repairs while promising not to tell insurance companies so the homeowners' premiums won't go up.
The fraudsters take photos and collect a cash deposit for the work — promising to return the next day, but they never show.
"It is recommended to research companies and request credentials prior to entering into business contracts or giving deposits," said RCMP in a release.
"If it seems too good to be true, it likely is."
RCMP say door-to-door contractors are uncommon and should be seen as suspicious.
