RCMP officers in Red Deer are thanking the community for its outpouring of support following the deaths of three officers in New Brunswick.

RCMP say residents have been dropping off cards, flowers, gifts and messages of sympathy at the two RCMP detachments in the city, and officers going about their daily work have been shown numerous acts of kindness.

"We are grateful for the demonstrations of support as we mourn the loss of fellow officers, and for the tremendous appreciation Red Deerians are expressing for the work RCMP do every day." said Insp. Scott Tod.

People can leave condolence messages online.

Donations can be made online to the Moncton Memorial Fund established by the RCMP Foundation in memory of the officers who were killed.
