Recall issued for blinds made in Alberta
Custom blinds made by firm in Medicine Hat could pose hazard to children
Health Canada has issued a recall notice for custom window blinds manufactured in Medicine Hat.
The recall affects corded, top-down, bottom-up, pleated shades made by Vertican. Only those blinds wider than 71 centimetres are affected.
Health Canada says they have exposed, looped operating cords which could pose a strangulation hazard to young children. Consumers are advised to stop using the product and to contact their retailer to arrange repairs.
The recalled products were sold from Jan. 1, 2011, to Dec. 9, 2013, at various retailers across Canada.
