Every month, CBC Calgary staff and members of our community get together to help a specific organization with a volunteer task.

Spearheaded by Angela Knight of the Calgary Eyeopener, the CBC Do Crew celebrates the spirit of volunteerism in Calgary.

Upcoming events

A huge thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers from last year!

We are currently recruiting volunteers to make lunches for Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids

The organization partners with local schools to provide free lunches for students who would otherwise go hungry.

Roughly 3,200 kids in Calgary go to school every day without a healthy lunch — that's a 35 per cent increase from last year.

That's a lot of sandwiches but the Do Crew is up for the challenge! We are looking for six people to join Angela on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in the BB4CK kitchen downtown (433 Macleod Trail S.E.).

It's an early start — we need to be there at 7:45 a.m. and should be finished by noon. It's a couple of hours of standing, so please be sure to wear comfortable close-toed shoes.

  • UPDATE: We have all of the volunteers we need. Thank you!
