Probable measles case prompts Red Deer area alert
Alberta Health Services is alerting people in Red Deer area about measles.
AHS has identified one probable case of measles and is advising people about the risk of exposure.
Officials are warning people who visited certain locations to monitor their health:
- Red Deer’s Mattie McCullough Elementary on April 4, 5 and 9 in Red Deer.
- Village Mall Medical Clinic on April 9 in Red Deer.
- Abbey Master Builder Centre on April 5th in Blackfalds.
Earlier this month, AHS confirmed two cases in Calgary and warned patrons of the National Westhills and Cibo, as well as staff and students of Western Canada High School.
In 2013, there were 43 cases in the AHS South Zone, which includes Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, as well as one case in the Calgary zone.
