Calgary police have a suspect in custody after the theft of a poppy donation box at the Calgary airport Saturday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. MT, a witness saw a man take the donation box from the counter of a fast food outlet in the airport food court.

The witness kept track of the man and contacted police.

Officers located the suspect a short time later and arrested the man in his 40s without incident.

Police say they are looking into whether the man could also be responsible for the recent theft of other poppy donation boxes at various locations around the city.
