Calgary police are looking to the public for help in identifying a man they say is responsible for a recent Beltline sexual assault.

Police say the man approached a woman sitting in the area of 14th Street and 15th Avenue S.W. around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 15. The victim got into his vehicle and was taken to a location in Sunalta where she was sexually assaulted and beaten.

She was found in an alley in the 2200 block of 24 A Street S.W.

The man was driving a silver, newer-model PT Cruiser and is described as Caucasian, in his early to mid-30s, roughly six feet tall with a slim build.

He was clean-shaven with short, dirty blond hair and a distinct Adam's apple.

At the time of the assault, he was wearing glasses, a black leather jacket, jeans and a blue, button-down collared shirt.
