Police nab Calgary motorcyclist at 180 km/h
A 22-year-old and a 25-year-old from Calgary have been charged
RCMP in Airdrie arrested two men for speeding Saturday on Highway 2 near Crossfield, where one of the men was travelling at 180 km/h.
An officer spotted two sport motorcycles travelling together at about 140 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone. One of the motorcycles, a yellow Yamaha R1, stopped for police while the other, a blue Suzuki GSX R750, fled southbound.
The officer contacted a partner who was farther south and that officer was able to stop the Suzuki, which was travelling at 180 km/h at that point.
Both men were arrested and are facing multiple charges.
The 25-year-old owner of the Suzuki faces charges related to speeding and failing to stop for police.
The 22-year-old owner of the Yamaha is charged with speeding and operating a motorcycle without a proper licence.
