Police investigate girl's severe injuries
Calgary police have been called in to investigate severe injuries sustained by a six-year-old girl on the weekend.
EMS responded to a medical call just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at a home on Temple Drive NE.
Paramedics rushed the girl to Children's Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The nature of her injuries have not been made public, but paramedics called police immediately.
Next door neighbour Elias Berhe said the the family moved into the home about a month ago.
"They kind of keep to themselves," he told CBC News. "The kids are really talkative as kids are, but the parents kind of keep to themselves." Investigators from the child abuse unit of the Calgary Police Service are awaiting a warrant before searching the home
