Pedestrian struck by car in N.E. Calgary in critical condition

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in northeast Calgary late Thursday night.

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in northeast Calgary late Thursday night.

At around 11 p.m. MT an eastbound InfinitiFX35 on 16th Avenue near Fourth Street northeast struck the 45-year-old man who was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.

The man remains in critical condition in hospital.

It doesn't appear speed or alcohol were factors for the driver, police said. But investigators are looking into alcohol consumption on the part of the pedestrian.
