Canadian Border Services agents have seized opium and khat at the Calgary airport.

A Fort McMurray man returning from England was arrested in Calgary on Jan. 19 after 250 bundles, or 30 kilograms of khat were allegedly found in his checked baggage.

Then, on Sunday a North Vancouver man returning from Tehran was arrested after border agents found three kilograms of opium in two false-sided checked bags.

Both men have been charged with importation and possession with the purpose of trafficking.

They're to appear in provincial court in late March.
