A damaged roof has forced City of Calgary officials to close the Stu Peppard Arena for the rest of the hockey season.
A city report indicates that recent melting and re-freezing of snow caused structural damage to two sections of the roof.
City spokesman Tom Hanson says inspectors have checked out other arenas in Calgary as well.
"We have determined there are three facilities of a similar vintage that have a similar construction methodology. We are having those facilities also inspected by a structural engineer," said Hanson.
Father David Bauer, Rose Kohn and Murray Copot are the three arenas under further inspection.
In the meantime the city is working with Hockey Calgary and other organizations to find available ice time for those groups who were using Stu Peppard Arena.
