A southern Alberta man who won the lottery was all smiles today as he posed with his gigantic $15.8 million cheque.
Chad Klepaychuk of Okotoks won a portion of the April 13 Lotto 6/49 draw — which ended up being the largest in Canadian history. He had one of the four winning tickets.
Klepaychuk says, even though he knew he had won straight away, everything still seems surreal.
"You always dream about winning but nobody thinks its going to happen. I still think that," he laughed.
Klepaychuk says it was hard keeping his win a secret, but he needed time to get used to a being multi-millionaire.
The married man has quit his job as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician apprentice, but is still figuring out what to do with his winnings.
"I have no idea at this point," he said.
"Maybe a new truck," he added. "I don't know, possibly lots of warm trips and a condo on the ocean."
