Only three Canadians made the World Economic Forum's list of Young Global Leaders this year.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi was one of them.
The honour is given to up to 200 people around the world each year for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the world's future.
Recipients come from backgrounds like business, civil society, social entrepreneurship, politics and government, arts and culture, and opinion and media.
There were 190 Young Global Leaders this year, representing every region of the world.
The other Canadians on the list are Scott Gilmore, executive director of Peace Dividend Trust, and cellist Zoe Keating.
Only people under age 40 are eligible.
