Two men have been charges with theft after break-ins to homes under construction in Calgary's northern suburbs.

Thieves broke into unfinished homes and construction trailers in Evanston and Redstone, launching a five-month police investigation.

Two Calgary men, aged 39 and 47, face four counts each of shop break-and-enter and theft, and one count each of mischief to property under $5,000.

One of the men also faces charges of driving without a licence.
